The Sims Family Cemetery
The Sims Family Cemetery is the final resting place for Edwin Walter Sims and many genertions of his immediate family. Located five miles north of Au Gres, Michigan on US 23, the cemetery has been the place of interment for many members of the Sims family for more than three quarters of a century. A quiet, heavily treed site with gentle hills, it sits atop the highest point along the Sims Township area of US 23. The large commemorative stone boldly scribed with the name "Sims" marks the graves of E.W. Sims, his wife Charlotte Smith Sims, and four of his children. E.W. Sims always had a strong attachment to and love for this area of Michigan, and it is here that the family has its true roots.
